University of Kentucky Hospital Wins Top KY Hospital 4 Years in a Row
Louisville’s Baptist Health Hospital Ties for Third in U.S. News Rankings for Kentucky
The University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital is the top hospital in the state. In U.S. News metro rankings, Baptist Health Louisville was No. 1 and Norton Hospital was No. 2.
These hospital rankings are designed to help the public make informed decisions about where to seek care. U.S. News evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide as part of their annual exercise, and ranked the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, at No. 1 on its “Best Hospitals Honor Roll for 2019.”
Baptist Health Louisville did well in the poll, tying for third in the state with Baptist Health Lexington. Norton Hospital landed at No. 5 in the state.

Adult/Geriatric Hospital Care in KY:
University of Kentucky was deemed to be high performing in three adult specialties — geriatrics, nephrology and orthopedics — as well as in eight adult procedures/conditions, including heart-bypass surgery, hip replacement and lung-cancer surgery.
UK achieved a national ranking — No. 33 — in the specialty of cancer.
Baptist Health Louisville was found to be high performing in seven adult procedures/conditions, including aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and knee replacement.
Norton Hospital was deemed high performing in five adult procedures/conditions, two of which are hip and knee replacement.
