Honoring the Legacy and Care of Our Veterans
Veterans Day is a time to honor the lives of those who have bravely served our country. As we pause to appreciate their sacrifices, we reflect not just on their time in uniform but on their lifelong journey of courage, dedication, and, often, a legacy that continues through the generations. Today, I want to share the story of a young American boy named Michael, who grew up with a heart for service—a heart that would eventually lead him to the armed forces and beyond.

Early Detection Saves Lives
Early detection is vital in combating breast cancer, one of the most common cancers among women. Regular screenings, like annual mammograms starting at age 40, can catch abnormalities early, improving treatment outcomes. Self-exams are also crucial for monitoring breast health. Monthly self-exams help women recognize normal breast texture and identify changes, focusing on visual inspections and checking for lumps. By prioritizing screenings and self-exams, women can proactively manage their breast health and improve survival rates. Remember, early detection saves lives—awareness is key.

Discovering Community: Hackberry Creek Women’s Club
Recently, my mom, Rawah Hassan, and I joined the Hackberry Creek Women’s Club, hoping to connect with new people and explore our community. From learning to play Mah Jong at our first meeting—thanks to Debbie's expert guidance—to winning my very first game, the club has already given us moments of fun and laughter. My mom has made friends with inspiring women. I’ve had the chance to bond with new faces. This club is more than just a social circle—it’s become a space for shared stories, new friendships, and exciting experiences. We can't wait to see what’s next!
