Theresa Pritchett, Director of NursingHOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A NURSE?
I have been working as a Nurse since 2003. I graduated with my Associates Degree in Nursing from Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan.
WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU BRING TO BRIGHTSTAR CARE?
I have most of my years of experience in management of geriatric care in the Long Term Care and Home Health Care settings. I am a leader in case management and patient advocacy. I work safely and effi ciently within a fast paced clinical setting. I have extensive experience within all aspects of Community and Home Health Care, including Medicaid, Medicare, Private Duty and Community Resource options to provide the best outcome for all patients possible. In the 6 years I worked in this market, I was able to be involved with every aspect of patient care, from hands on to care management to developing all types of care plans for very diverse client acuity levels. I enjoy being able to teach, educate and encourage others about health and wellness. I was a recent member of the Florida Nurses Association in 2013. I served on the committee for the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. I am currently a board member for The Nightingale Tribute, Nurses Society Honor Guard, to honor the selfl ess service of any nurse which is given when end of life is approaching or at their memorial service.
WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR JOB ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?
I am most passionate about Holistic care - Providing teaching and education to individuals so that they can safely maintain their independence in the home. Increasing knowledge on overall wellness to patients, families and caregivers to try to decrease or better manage illness and improve quality of life.
