Walk to End Alzheimer's: Sponsored by BrightStar Care of Conejo Valley and Coastal Los Angeles

November 14, 2024
Alzheimer’s touches so many lives, and at BrightStar Care of Conejo Valley and Coastal Los Angeles, we know how deeply this journey affects families, caregivers, and communities.

We were honored to step up in support at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, standing side by side with those who’ve experienced the heartbreak of this disease.

On October 13th, we gathered in Hermosa Beach for an unforgettable day filled with hope, love, and a shared commitment to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. With smiles, we walked with purpose, united in our efforts to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's research.

But the journey didn’t stop there. Just a week later, on October 19th, we laced up our shoes once again for the Westlake Village walk, carrying the same passion to make a difference.

BrightStar Care’s Participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

We believe that caregiving goes far beyond just a business—it’s about building meaningful connections with the community we serve. This year, we were proud to sponsor the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Our dedication to those impacted by Alzheimer’s, both individuals and their families, fuels our passion to make a difference.

We understand the struggles and challenges faced by so many, and we’re committed to supporting them through quality care and active participation in this important cause.

A Fantastic Turnout in Hermosa Beach

The Hermosa Beach event saw an incredible turnout, with 500 people supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s. The energy was contagious as people from all walks of life, young and old, came together with one common goal: to end Alzheimer’s.

The day was packed with excitement, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Hermosa Beach Mayor Dean Francois. The Laker Girls and Star Wars characters added to the fun, while emcee Jessica Accamando kept the crowd engaged. Music filled the air with performances by the South Bay Music Connection's Swing at Six and Auner Garcia. Janet Turner, representing Congressman Ted Lieu, presented a certificate to the Alzheimer's Association. In addition to BrightStar Care’s top sponsorship, 10 other sponsors were present, showcasing their support at booths.

One of the highlights of the event was meeting Dexter, the Alzheimer’s Association’s lovable mascot dog. Dexter, with his bright purple bandana, wagged his way into the hearts of walkers, providing joy and comfort to participants. His presence reminded everyone of the unconditional love and support that pets bring to those living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers.

We hope the overwhelming support inspires even more individuals to join us at future events.

Raising Awareness and Funds for Alzheimer’s Research

Raising awareness is just the beginning. Through events like these, we can help direct funds into the areas that will make the most impact on research and treatment for Alzheimer’s, one of the most challenging forms of dementia.

Every dollar raised brings hope that we are one step closer to breakthroughs that could change the future for those diagnosed with this disease. Together, we are helping to fund the research that could one day end Alzheimer’s for good.

Community Spirit and Dedication to a Vital Cause

The spirit of the community shone brightly at the walk, with supporters proudly displaying their colored flowers—purple for those we’ve lost, yellow for caregivers, blue for those living with Alzheimer’s, and orange for allies and advocates.

The day was made even more joyful by the presence of our furry friends, who wore BrightStar Care scarves and even a few tutus and happily wagged their tails as they joined us on the walk.

The outpouring of love and dedication from every participant was a beautiful reminder that we are stronger together and can make a difference.

Continuing the Fight at Westlake Village

The momentum didn’t stop in Hermosa Beach! A week later, on October 19th, we continued our commitment by participating in another Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Westlake Village.

The event was once again a tremendous success, with passionate walkers coming together to show their unwavering support for those affected by this devastating disease.

Our ongoing dedication to this cause is rooted in our belief that, by standing together, we can help bring about real change.

We’re not just caregivers—we’re partners in the fight to end Alzheimer’s, and we’ll keep walking until we see a world where this disease no longer takes the memories of our loved ones.
