As I matured, I witnessed firsthand the profound effects of caregiving on one's life. Raising my own children provided me with a profound sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. Moreover, being a caregiver also gave me oppurtunities for personal and professional development such as gaining new skills and knowledge in healthcare or social work. These new skills have given me new ways and a strong desire to help others and make a positive difference in their lives. Ultimately, my greatest motivation stems from my three sons, driving me to excel in my role as a caregiver.

-
As a caregiver, I strive to make things more possible for my clients by offering them personalized support tailored to their specific needs and goals. This involves actively listening to their concerns, understanding their preferences, and working collaboratively to develop effective strategies for achieving their desired outcomes.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR CAREGIVERS?
-
For other caregivers my advice would be, first is to prioritize self-care have yourself checked out by a doctor or just simply take a break. Remember it is essential to recharge yourself so you can continue providing quality care to others. Next is to seek support, don't hesitate to reach out to friends and family for assistance or encouragement. Lastly is to practice empathy and patience, each individual has unique needs and experiences and it is essential to show compassion and respect at all times.
TELL US YOUR FAVORITE CAREGIVING MOMENT/STORY:
-
My favorite moment is when I cook, bathe and dress the client. I had a client that I bathed and dressed her in her favorite clothes, put lipstick, and cream on her. After that, I cooked her favorite food. She said to me, "You are so good to me I like you.". It makes me feel good to know I made the client happy and it makes me love doing what makes them happy.
HOW DO YOU RE-ENERGIZE?
-
Spending quality time with my family, especally my three sons.
A FEW WORDS ABOUT NIN FROM AN APPRECIATIVE STAFF:
"I was scheduling home care and facilities when Nin first started with us, and she always has shown a great enthusiasm for working and willing to pick up any shifts possible. At the time she did not have steady transportation, but still managed to always get to her shifts timely and was always professional. She is always a joy to talk with and never complains about anything, just hard work and great work ethic. She has been a great asset to Brightstar Care!" - Terry Kyle
