HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AN LVN?
I have been working as an LVN for the past five years. This is my first time working in a home care setting and I am really enjoying it. I have a passion for helping others and BrightStar Care, has provided me the opportunity to do just that! Brightstar Care has been extremely welcoming and supportive, and I am so thankful to be a part of their Team.WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME AN LVN?
In 2014 my grandfather became ill and was in need of a home health nurse. I began to spend more and more time with my grandpa so that I could help with his care. The nurse showed me how to administer medications, change the dressings, and many other nursing skills. This is where I found my love for nursing and shortly after began my journey to become an LVN.
WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR JOB ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?
I am passionate about it all! I love all aspects of this career and I know that this is what I was meant to do. I was put here on this earth to care for others, I truly believe that. While working I feel this urge to help my patients and the people around me as much as I can, and I feel amazing doing that.HOW ARE YOU MAKING MORE POSSIBLE FOR YOUR BRIGHTSTAR CLIENTS?
While working for Brightstar Care, I continue to be my best self and the best nurse that I can be. I have shown my passion and competence when caring for my patients. These qualities allow my patients to rely on my skill set and nursing care throughout their recovery.WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER CAREGIVERS?
I would tell them to continue learning. I believe that education is an important part of this profession. You can gain more knowledge by reading articles, taking classes, or even just listening to other nurses. This may change the quality of your care and allow you to be an advocate for your patient.TELL US ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE NURSING STORIES
I have a few moments that come to mind. However, the story that has impacted me the most is the one of my current patient. I am amazed by him and also his family. Being able to be a part of his recovery and positive outcome will be a memory that I will cherish throughout my nursing career. I am excited for what the future holds, for me. I look forward to providing care to the patients I have yet to meet making a difference in their lives and their families.HOW DO YOU RE-ENERGIZE?
Honestly, I don’t do a lot to re-energize. I recently graduated from Nursing School obtaining my RN degree. I would spend my days working, and my nights studying. Coffee was my best friend. With school now completed, I am looking forward to catching up on sleep, walking my dogs, and spending my days off enjoying time at the beach.A FEW WORDS ABOUT ASHLEY FROM AN APPRECIATIVE CLIENT:
