During the past several months, Julie Laramie,RN, was providing me with home nursing care specifically dealing with leg wound care. I found her to act in a very professional manner, very knowledgeable concerning the care that was needed, she was on time for the scheduled visits and was very flexible when scheduling a visit. Julie Laramie, RN is an asset to your organization.

My caregiver Angela has been the most dedicated caregiver and the most responsible. She is always on time, and the most available person that I’ve worked with in the last five years. She is not only great at her job but she takes initiative to provide thoughtful ideas for my medical, personal and even my home care. She has been very dependable through inclement weather and seldomly Ill. She is a great representation of Brightstar care!

Bright Star was truly there to save the day. My mother recently had surgery and needed care when she returned home from her hospital stay. From providing expert medical attention to personalized care, the team from Bright Star ensured that her recovery was better than we ever expected. A special shout-out to Amanda for exceeding all of our expectations about home health care. We especially appreciated Amanda's kindness and patience as we navigated through this challenging time. As cliched as it sounds, her smile really did brighten all of our days.

What can I say about Bright Star except that they brought the most peace and comfort to myself and my Mother who was Terminal. I knew I wanted a company that would be able to send someone that would be a perfect fit for my Mother. I called 9 companies and Bright Star remained at the top of the list. The interview process at home went so smoothly. From the moment Sheila arrived, she and my Mother were laughing and hitting it off. It was a perfect match! I never worried about my mom when Sheila was there. When I needed to adjust her schedule, they made it so easy for me to increase hours. One night in particular, Sheila had just left for the evening and my mom had her first seizure. Hospice advised she can no longer be alone. I called Bright Star to see if Sheila was available to come right back to spend the night, and she came back with bells on. Everyone at Bright Star was so easy to work with. Most importantly, Thanks to Bright Star and Sheila, I was able to just be her daughter and not her caretaker. Sheila made sure her end of life was filled with laughs and love. i couldn't have asked for a better company or caregiver. I refer your company whenever asked.
Thank you.

During the last few years I have suffered from progressive chronic disease, and watched as my health and standard of living deteriorated. I finally had to admit to myself that I was no longer able to adequately care for myself and my home. Reluctantly, I called several geriatric caregiver agencies, and was most impressed by the gentleman representing Brightstar. We discussed my needs and requirements, and we agreed I would have a caregiver every Tuesday and Thursday. I was told that every effort would be made to ensure I would have the same caregiver on the same scheduled days and times. This turned out to be difficult. I had a different caregiver almost every time one was scheduled. Some were good: some were not.
Since I had been a Nursing Supervisor for almost fifteen years at Mercy Medical Center, I was experienced in supervising both nurses and aides. I know consistency in care is very important, and I had mixed feelings about continuing home care.
On my next scheduled day with a caregiver, another new aide appeared at my door. Her name was Taylor. She appeared more confident and experienced than any of the other aides I had worked with. We were both aware from the start that we worked very well together. As I became accustomed to her, I realized her skills were far superior to any of the aides who had been assigned to me before. She was energetic and self motivated. When she accomplished the tasks I assigned, she found something else that needed attention. She completely reorganized my chaotic kitchen (even supplying small plastic storage bins from the Dollar Store). The result was a kitchen that was far neater, more attractive, and whose contents were easier to find and far more accessible to the handicapped and often befuddled cook.
I had my cataracts removed recently. Taylor was there at my side for every appointment and treatment. My memory is flawed, but I was able to rely on Taylor to keep track of my appointments and make sure I never missed one. She frequently reminded me of
an upcoming appointment, and she was at my door early on the day of each of them to help me dress in case I forgot or was running late. I was very anxious about the entire procedure, and about leaving my home though it would only be for a few hours.
I very seldom left home due to my physical disabilities and frequent falls. Taylor was there - very reassuring, as she guided each of my moves to and from her truck with kind, gentle encouragement. I will never again fear going anywhere with Taylor or even climbing into her truck - although it is a massive beast.
Now that Taylor and I have been together for many months, I can’t imagine life without her. She has done so many things to help me live and function more effectively with my handicaps. She has become such an important support in so many ways, and I am sure she is the same sweet helper with every one of her patients. I have probably watched and evaluated more than a thousand nurses and aides, but I have never seen one more giving or more perceptive to her patient’s needs than Taylor. I feel very lucky that Taylor is assigned to be my caregiver.
BrightStar Care helped our family at a very difficult time. Our father needed 24/7 care and BrightStar provide consistent, expert, and caring professionals to help us all survive. Caregivers like Crystal and Shawna stand out as some of the most compassionate and professional caregivers we've ever met. We'd strongly recommend BrightStar to any family trying to facilitate an elderly parent to live in their own home.

I can't say enough about how awesome Bright Star has been for my 89-year-old mother. Ever since her caregiver came to mostly socialize with her, she has been a different person! She plans every day and that includes activities and meals which she seldom did. My mother talks about her caregiver every day that I chat with her. It has truly made me so happy to see her look forward to each day. This has freed me up to help out with my grandkids and to continue to work part time. My husband and I like to travel and this gives me such peace of mind knowing that there is someone who really cares about my mother with her every day. There couldn't have been a better match made in heaven for my mom!
