Williamsburg police going pink in October
Support Going Pink This Month with Breast Cancer Awareness month!
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) -- Police in one local city area going pink later this year to show support in the fight against Breast Cancer.
Williamsburg police announced Tuesday that officers will wear a patch on their uniforms. It's part of "The Pink Patch Project" -- which is focused on trying to drive the conversation about cancer through the display and sale of patches link this.
The department says it is also partnering with the "Here for the Girls" non-profit organization, and will be selling the patches in October to raise money. Funds raised in the sale of these patches will go toward the organization.
