Prior to BrightStar I worked on an Intermediate Care Unit for 8 years, 2 of the years I was part of the leadership team. In addition to the Intermediate Care Unit, I worked 2 years in Pediatrics/Post Partem. I earned my Master’s in Nursing Education from Western Governor University and my BSN at Purdue University.
What part of your job are you most passionate about?
The part of my job I am most passionate about is leading a team who helps facilitate keeping individuals safely at home instead of being placed in facilities. As a child my grandmother had a massive stroke leaving her paralyzed on one side of her body. We tried very hard to honor her wishes and keep her home but being that my dad and his siblings all had young children it was near impossible, so we ended up placing her in a nursing home where she remained for the last 10 years of her life. I feel like everyday I get to honor my grandmother by helping our infusion and home care clients.
What are three unique strengths you bring to BrightStar Care?
I am a leader who is actively involved in the field assessing and caring for our patients.
I am always available to support and assist our nurses and caregivers.
I am always seeking the best possible ways to care for our clients.
