When you are in a bit of a pickle, and you need an agency to help with your transportation, care and post-medical procedure needs, I would recommend BrightStar Care. I had a great experience yesterday with the caregiver they sent me yesterday, called Jonathon. Jonathon was an enthusiastic young man, who arrived right on time, conducted himself in a professional, courteous, and yet friendly manner, which immediately put me at ease. We had a fair wait at the clinic, but Jonathon’s affable manner made the time pass seemingly quickly. Additionally, Emilie and all the staff I interacted with at BrightStar made the process effortless and quick. They were all friendly and each person managed to put my mind at ease. I understand that arranging assistance with medical procedures, care and transportation can be quite daunting, particularly when you are already anxious about a looming medical ordeal. BrightStar eliminated these concerns, and topped it up by sending Jonathon, who, as I mentioned earlier was exemplary! With the foregoing in mind, I recommend using BrightStar when your needs call for it.

I recently had a peripherally inserted central catheter placed following an infection. Over the course of eight weeks I administered IV antibiotics twice a day through that line... #nofun. Brightstar was contracted to provide the home health aspect of my care, which included weekly bloodwork, dressing changes, vitals, etc.. Megan Kennedy is the nurse who visited our home the first time to change my dressing, draw bloodwork, take vitals and provide instructions on care and safety. My wife and I were so impressed by her professionalism, but more importantly her kindness and empathy. To that end, we asked Megan if she could come every week, instead of having a different nurse visit weekly? She made no promises, but said she would put in the request. Thankfully, it was approved and Megan was assigned to manage my home care, which she did brilliantly once and sometimes twice a week over the course of eight weeks. In addition to being an excellent and highly capable registered nurse with loads of experience, Megan’s bedside manner is unparalleled, in a system where patients are often treated as a source of revenue instead of human beings. She is a ++ human being, and I am thankful to have had her manage my care during time of uncertainty and distress.
