San Fernando Valley Nutrition Program for Seniors:
This program provide nutritionally balanced meals to individuals 60 years of age and over and their spouses. The program supports seniors who live independently by providing socialization and informal support networks. Meals are served at congregate meal sites, known as “Elderly Nutrition Providers”. The cafes are located in senior centers, elderly housing facilities, schools, churches, restaurants and other community settings. The program also provides nutrition screening, assessment, education and counseling to help participants meet their nutritional need. YMCA Active Older Adult program (AOA):
This program encompasses a variety of classes, including exercises for seniors to stay in shape at any age. Senior fitness classes are designed for men and women ages 50 to 100… and everything in between. A body in motion stays in motion, and the programs at our branch help keep you moving, active and thriving.
The YMCA helps senior members grow emotionally, socially, vocationally, intellectually and spiritually. Their Active Older Adult programs can improve a senior’s overall wellbeing, as well as their physical fitness.
