Dr. Ashley is an Assistant Professor at VCU, where she has received numerous awards, including in 2016 being elected by her students and peers as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, in recognition of her teaching. Dr. Ashley is a honored member of the Pauley Heart team. She maintains an active cardiology practice and takes a holistic approach to the care of a women’s heart through life’s various stages.

The cardiovascular benefits of estrogen will be examined, as well as the cardiovascular changes associated with the menopause transition. We will look at the impact age can have on hormone treatment (The Timing Hypothesis), as well as the importance of vascular health and how estrogen is related.

- The cardio effects, protective and negative, of estrogen, and associated hormone therapies
- Menopausal related changes
- Estrogen treatment at various ages
- The relation of estrogen to vascular health
- Hormone replacement therapy, what the studies have told us, and the decision to use or not use
