How BrightStar Is Battling COVID-19 From the Frontlines

May 28, 2020

BrightStar Care of Wayne and Fair Lawn is managing the COVID-19 situation and the additional protocols that have been put in place to ensure the safety of our aides and clients:

  1. Shift Screening - Prior to the beginning of each shift, employees undergo a complete self screen.  This required screening identifies if the employee poses a heightened risk of exposing clients to the novel coronavirus/COVID-19 or any other communicable disease. Additionally, the screen allows us immediate tracking should any of our caregivers become exposed.
  2. PPE – We are receiving a shipment of N95 masks, face shields and protective goggles. BrightStar Care employees who treat symptomatic clients will undergo a medical evaluation and receive OSHA approved N95 mask fit test training prior to providing care. All caregivers treating asymptomatic clients already have proper PPE kits.
  3. Clinical Excellence - Our clinical team is working with the CDC and state governments to monitor any new developments and stay at the forefront of best practices.
  4. One Client One Caregiver - We have actively built a roster of caregivers for Live-In work.  When possible, we are advising clients to initiate or switch services to Live-In care.  This reduces exposure on all ends and increases the safety of the population.

We are at the forefront of all developments in the space and are implementing new standards as soon as they are released - we continue to maintain A Higher Standard.  Should you have any clinical related questions, our nursing team is available to address any concern and provide guidance during these challenging times.  We are also open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to make sure all of your needs are being met. Don’t hesitate to call us at 973-321-0010.
