Join the FREE Senior Lunch Bunch
There is such a thing as an almost free lunch at just about all the senior centers noted above. They are served weekdays at community centers and designated buildings throughout the North Shore and Chicago area. Contact the North Shore Senior Center (847) 784 - 6000) for more information. Find out if today is Prince Spaghetti Day and if you're old enough to remember what day that is (hint, Wednesday), welcome to the club and lunch. Donations are requested but usually not mandatory, but the meals are VERY reasonably priced.
Taking Part in the Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee
This event can give you a chance to showcase the knowledge you've gained over centuries of living (just kidding). If you have a talent for spelling, this could be the event for you. Local competitions are held between March and May in senior citizen organizations throughout Illlinois.
