Some were good, and some...well let's just say I would not recommend them and leave it at that. I'm familiar with BrightStar both through their good reputation in the industry, what I saw when they were working with Residents at the community in which I was employed, as well as personally knowing some employees who work for BrightStar. When my Mother-In-Law, Rosemary, who resides where I worked, was in need of some private care hours, it was a no brainer that I would recommend BrightStar. And they have stood up to their great reputation. BrightStar and Jovita, my mom's caregiver, have been providing services for her about a year now. Jovita has a friendly, gentle and bubbly personality, and always goes beyond our expectations. She is very proactive and helps Rosemary in every way she is able. If there is anything she is concerned about with Mom, she will give us a call to let us know. We know Mom is in good hands. One afternoon, my husband walked in and found Jovita sitting with Rosemary and she was busy hemming up some new slacks Mom had received for her birthday. She noticed that they were not in her drawer and asked if she should put them away. When she found out they needed to be shortened, she thought she would do it so Mom could wear her pretty new clothes. This is just one example of her kindness and attention. When we needed to have someone start coming on Saturday afternoons, we called BrightStar to set it up. Jovita agreed to take on the extra day so Mom could have consistency. Also, whenever Mom has had a hospitalization, or a stay in nursing care, BrightStar has made sure to bring Jovita back to her when she returned to her apartment! Both the company and Jovita have been amazing! I have recommended BrightStar to others and will continue to in the future. Having a background in the industry, I know what to look for, both red flags as well as good care.
