Marjorie Bossow
Marjorie Bossow has been a BrightStar client now for 2 years. Her daughters researched different agencies to make sure they found the right fit for their mother and found BrightStar to be the best option. Marjorie receives care almost every day and sometimes twice a day. Once a month a BrightStar Nurse Care Coordinator visits Marjorie to evaluate the level of care, reviews care protocols with the caregiver, and administers a vitamin B shot. The nurses and/or caregivers also check Marjorie’s vitals and look through the BrightStar Care book to read any notes or comments regarding Marjorie’s care plan. https://youtu.be/cvlK1aRcEiA “Everyone at BrightStar is great,” says Marjorie, “…I have already referred BrightStar to friends and neighbors.” Her favorite thing about her caregivers is they are “very caring and friendly, especially Emily (her most recent caregiver), who feels like a girlfriend coming to visit.” 
The caregivers do everything from helping Marjorie with her laundry, dishes, making dinner, walking Ellie- her dog and being a companion. One of Marjorie’s favorite memories is when Valerie, one of Marjorie’s previous BrightStar caregivers, saved a man’s life. Aside from walking the dog, Valerie sometimes went to Jewel. One particular day instead of taking the normal route to Jewel Valerie took Marjorie’s suggestion of an alternate, faster route. On her way to Jewel she saw a man lying on the sidewalk covered in blood. She ran over to him and immediately called 911. The ambulance came and took the man to the hospital. The following week Valerie was walking Ellie again and the wife of the man came running up to her to thank her. The wife explained that the man was on new medication and must have reacted badly to it, causing him to faint. The woman was so thankful that Valerie happened to be at the right place at the right time.Marjorie rates BrightStar a 10/10! One of Marjorie’s passions is creating oil paintings. She has been drawing since she was a little girl and studied art in college. She still creates paintings in her free time and all of the nurses and caregivers compliment her talent.
