Morris and Essex County Family Caregiver Events:
1 - Caregiver Cafe PLUS - CHAIR YOGA, Tuesday April 20 at 6:30 pm
Please Join United Way Caregivers Coalition and Robyn Ulmer for a special VIRTUAL evening of socialization and respite.
This evening will include the practice of chair yoga. In chair yoga, you’ll learn and practice yoga poses that can mostly be done from a seated position. You’ll practice mindfulness, balance (sometimes you’ll even stand up a little!), and being curious, passive observers of being in your own bodies. Be ready to practice along by:
- Wearing comfortable clothes you can move in. Workout wear isn’t necessary – just be sure to avoid pants or short skirts or jackets/shirts that would be very restrictive to movement.
- Having a light supper or snack. Avoid a huge feast right before doing yoga. Although there are some yoga poses we’ll learn that do help when you’ve overindulged.
You can register simply by replying to this email and letting Stephanie know for whom you care. They will then send your zoom registration link and confirmation.
Due to grant restrictions, in order to participate, you must be a caregiver (or be caring for someone in) Morris County and
-60+ years old or
-caring for someone who is 60+ or
-caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder or
-55+ years old and caring for a disabled adult between the ages of 19 and 59 or
-Age 55+ years old who is caring for a child up to age 18
2 - The Most Important Documents of Your Life in the Age of COVID on Thursday, April 22 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Vaccines are here, but the coronavirus is still with us. In this critically key workshop, you will learn what papers you must have in order in case of any health crisis, how to prepare and organize them, and what to do – and what not to do – when an emergency strikes. Individual questions will be encouraged and addressed, and resources for further assistance will be provided.
