Ethics and Nutrition CE Event for Social Workers and Case Managers

May 14, 2019

TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT, THAT IS THE QUESTION.  SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

Swallowing is a basic, life-sustaining function, yet most people know little about how it works, what happens when it doesn’t, and what to do when someone can’t or won’t eat.  ETHICS AND NUTRITION examines the many aspects of eating, swallowing and remediation options available in the ethical framework of patient-centered care and quality of life.  Drawing on case studies, participants will leave with a better appreciation of:

> why people stop eating
> options and the ethics of therapeutic intervention and remediation
> diagnostics and when to use them
> nutritional intake at end-of-life
> words to start the conversation

Designed to educate and inform professionals and family members alike,  this is a comprehensive
program that celebrates the circle of life!

2 CEUs for Social Workers and Nursing in the DMV pending.
