Terri Canaday, Nurse Educator from Seasons Hospice led an educational program for residents of Independent Living at Brooke Grove on the topic of Advanced Directives and the Maryland MOLST form. She shared the differences between an Advanced Directive and the MOLST and gave a thoughtful presentation highlighting preparation for the future, including reviewing the “5 Wishes”.
Five Wishes
The person I want to make care decisions for me when I can’t.
The kind of medical treatment I want or don’t want.
How comfortable I want to be.
How I want people to treat me.
What I want my loved ones to know.
The program was well attended and Terri’s easy and natural speaking style generated some great questions and feedback from the group. Terri’s expertise in hospice and ICU nursing gave a wealth of knowledge and education. We appreciate partnering with Seasons Hospice to bring valuable programs to communities in Montgomery County and love working together to help seniors in our community and with the residents of Independent Living at Brooke Grove.
