Friends tell me that finding a caregiver and an agency that would work with me after my breast cancer surgery is difficult at best. When I tell them that I found one that ranks in the stellar category, they say my find is nothing short of a miracle. The first day I called Bright Star to inquire about services after my breast cancer surgery, Matt answered the phone right away. Other agencies instructed me to leave a message and then never returned my call. Subsequently, I dealt with Skyler when making phone calls about scheduling, transportation to be provided by the caregiver, or whatever the question was, he was there to answer the phone and address my needs. Tracy visited me in my home and listened to my health needs, my doctor orders, and personal needs and selected Twania Bumpers to be the caregiver that would most closely match all three needs. I am thankful that she selected Twania as my caregiver. As for Twania, well, I cannot say enough good things about her compassion, her attentiveness, and the way she asked questions to make sure she did things the way I wanted—like Would you like the potato cut into sixths or fourths. I am so impressed with her willingness to get things the exact way I wanted them done. Twania helped me attend to personal aspects of my daily routine that I could no longer attend to myself--like showering, washing my hair, dressing, all the things that are difficult once the muscles that used to move, stretch and lift are compromised after the surgery. I can’t say this wasn’t hard for me the first time, but it would have been hard with anyone. Twania made this process as easy as anyone could. Again, she paid attention to my preferences no matter how silly they might appear to others, preferences like which color wash cloth I wanted to use. By the end, we’d formed a relationship because I know Twania really cares about me. I am grateful in a way that goes beyond what has become a trite saying. I am grateful beyond words. If you have not gathered by now, I highly recommend Bright Star for your caregiver needs!

Brightstar of Raleigh has been wonderful to work with since the day they started providing home healthcare aids for my wife. We have been very pleased with the staff it has provided. Tessa and Michaela are both awesome caregivers. They are cheerful, helpful and accommodating to my wife's needs, including helping her decorate our Christmas Tree.
