Saluting a Veteran award winner
At Brightstar Care of Huntington Beach & Long Beach, we have a continued commitment to support the Veteran community in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Long Beach and surrounding areas,
We are always looking for Veterans who make notable contributions to the community which may or may not be recognized through other awards and recognition.
That’s why our newsletters are always filled with local contributors that are making a difference to the Veteran community.
Today, we’d like to recognize a strong local Veteran contributor – Mr Tom Boscamp.
We first met Tom Boscamp as part of his outreach from Coastline College where he is the Veteran Services Coordinator. Coastline is a thought leader in community education and have taken a lead in making education available to the Veteran community. Tom’s role as Veteran Services Coordinator is crucial in bringing a range of support services to the Veteran community.
Tom’s leading role in the community has been recognized by others in the community and we’d like to take a moment and recognize this veteran’s various community awards.
Tom Boscamp was honored at the end of 2024 as the Orange County Fifth District Veteran of the Year by Supervisor Katrina Foley. This award recognized his work supporting Veterans in Orange County.

Tom also received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Assembly, further celebrating his commitment to the Veteran community.

Also late in 2024, at the Veterans Legal Institute’s Lawyers for Warriors Diamond Anniversary Gala, Tom Boscamp was recognized as “Veteran of the Year.” The event in Costa Mesa brought together Veterans, advocates, community leaders, and even two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.

Over the past decade, VLI has been dedicated to keeping Veterans housed, ensuring access to healthcare for the most severely wounded, and supporting gainful employment. This is why Tom continues to receive accolades from community leaders – and to this we add our own.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t add that while attending the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA) conference in Kansas City last year, Tom Boscamp was elected to the Board of Directors. During the conference he also received the NAVPA Service award. NAVPA consists of colleagues and peers who are involved in the operation of veterans’ affairs programs across the country.
We think that these recognitions go some way towards recognizing a special individual who clearly cares about the community he serves. And that’s why we are today adding our own recognition for Tom Boscamp in our area.
Tom kindly made available some pictures at our request and we’ve included them, here.
Thanks, Tom !!
