Just yesterday, I inadvertently heard two veterans talking in the waiting area of a doctor’s office. Their stories about their daily struggles due to traumas from their wounds were so heart-breaking. One person had recurring memory loss. He woke up every day not knowing what had happened the previous day. His wife was his sole caregiver. The other person had heavy foot injuries preventing him from leaving his house. His family was also his caregivers. They talked about isolation and pain. I desperately wanted to reach out to them offering my help.
But today I am writing this blog because I want veterans to know that they have many benefits that allow them to get help from home health care agencies. They don’t need to do things alone.
