Our Staff at BrightStar Care® Grosse Pointe / Southeast Macomb

Like a lot of BrightStar Care owners, I too had several loved ones who needed a lot of care in their final years.  I saw first-hand, and was awestruck at how loving and selfless the caregivers were with the most vulnerable members of society and knew I wanted to do my part to care for and protect these people. 
 
I have always had an interest in health and wellness, having worked in the fitness industry and going through EMT training in my younger days.  After a successful career in operations management and turnaround consulting, I decided to revisit my earlier passions, which is helping people.  BrightStar Care affords me the opportunity to truly make a difference in many people’s lives. 

On a personal level, I have been married for 22 years to my wife Karen (we have no kids) and enjoy boating, music, traveling and fitness.  I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and two graduate degrees, a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations from Wayne State and a Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College.

I want to give a big thanks to everyone who has welcomed us into their homes to care for them or their loved ones, it is an honor to serve you. 

Faye wears several hats in this office.  She is the Director of New Business Development, our Certified Dementia Practitioner and our rock. 

It is an understatement to say that Faye’s real passion lies in helping those with dementia.  Faye is an acquaintance and devotee of world renowned dementia guru Teepa Snow, and puts together a unique plan of care for all our clients with dementia.  She will then make sure that the caregivers understand that plan and carry it out.  Faye also runs support groups for family caregivers.

Faye has been at this office from the very beginning. Prior to BrightStar, Faye worked in corporate travel for 25 years.

She has been a Registered Nurse for 22 years and, before that, a Medical Assistant for 13 years. Kelly has a diverse clinical background, having worked in critical care, mental health care, corrections and home care. As a case manager for the Easter Seals, Kelly gained a special insight into the complex needs of those without a wide support system. She brings that knowledge to her BrightStar Care clients. Kelly works closely with our Office Manager and Staffing Manager to ensure an appropriate match between caregiver and client. She conducts assessments and reassessments of our clients and supervises our staff in the field. One reason why BrightStar Care’s services are so effective is the clinical coordination Kelly brings to the table. She coordinates BrightStar care plans with our clients’ primary care physicians, Medicare nurses and other clinicians where appropriate and as requested by families. Kelly received her degree in Nursing from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing.

Antoinette is another long-term employee of this office.  Antoinette started as a Caregiver and her dedication and conscientious work ethic earned her a well-deserved place in the office.
Antoinette is responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of the caregivers, ensuring the right fit between client and caregiver (a lot harder than it sounds).  
 
Antoinette is a Certified Medical Assistant by training.

Alyssa is responsible for all things related to billing and payroll. She also performs many administrative duties that keeps the office humming. 

Alyssa is a full time student at Wayne State University, studying marketing management.
