Signs of Parkinson's Disease for the Austin Senior

April 10, 2018
It is important for Austin seniors to be aware of their health and any changes that may occur. If you fear that you may have Parkinson's Disease, here are some signs to look out for:

  • Shaking
  • Stiffness
  • Moving slow
  • A shuffle walk
  • Stiff facial expression
  • Muffled speech
  • Frequent imbalance
  • Small, cramped handwriting
  • Depression
Contact your local provider if you think you possess these most of these symptoms, and to take further precautions that you do or do not have Parkinson's Disease. It is a diseae that is not gender specific, race specific, yet mostly diagnosed to those over the age of 65. Parkinsons's is not something that you can take a blood test for, a thorough check up with your doctor must be put in place to confirm. You as an Austin senior will also want to work with a neurologist who specializes in PD, as they are going to be more versed on the subject and able to give you a more clear answer to your diagnosis.
