With over 30 years in the dental field, I come to BrightStar Care with a goal of helping others by leveraging my exceptional people skills.  One of my greatest takeaways from my Dental Hygiene experience is the ability to put others at ease when facing a difficult situation.  Over the years, I have volunteered for hospice, Special Olympics, and my church.  I have also become a strong advocate for both human and animal rights.  Working at BrightStar Care is an extension of my caring nature and passion for helping others

I bring a diverse background to the role of Director of Nursing. I am a US Army Nurse Corps veteran, I hold a Master’s degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Education in Leadership and hold several certifications as a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist and Certified Wellness Practitioner, as well as a Certificate in Health Care Ethics. My passions are education, health, and wellness.  I enjoy kayaking, hiking, travel, working out, cooking, and my friends & family. My core values are faith, teamwork, collaboration, lifestyle wellness, and education.

I have been a part of the BrightStar Care team since August 2022 and have worked in the home health field for more than 15 years. Much of my experience is within the geriatric and long-term care specialty. I thoroughly enjoy assisting our clients and caregivers, making sure the highest quality of care is of the upmost priority. I enjoy leading and watching our employees grow in their roles. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading different types of books, and helping in our community.
 

I have worked in health care for over 24 years in a variety of environments including Nursing Facilities, Hospitals, and Home Care. I left my prior employment as a Care Manager to help take care of my Mother-in-Law. However, I did miss the field I work in and wanted to reengage with the working world. I love caring for the elderly community and have volunteered with multiple organizations to help and assist our elderly community. I have a passion for building and developing relationships with people. 

After serving 20 years in the Marine Corps, I decided to continue the path of servitude concerning those in the community in need of care. I am dedicated to helping clients and employees by offering a unique approach to a positive outcome.  I hold strong convictions that if there’s a will, there’s a way, and I’m here to ensure we can make that happen. I have a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams University and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration and Certification in Business Analytics from George Mason University. When not engaging with the community to serve those in need, I can be found in the garage woodworking or spending time with my family. I am guided by integrity, humility, creativity, and tenacity.
