Eric recently retired from corporate life after a career in the financial services industry to pursue his lifetime goal of owning and operating a small business. BrightStar Care provided Eric an opportunity to both operate a business and give back to the community by providing the highest level of homecare. Eric lives nearby in Walnut Creek with his wife Karen. They raised two daughters and enjoy spending time with their grandsons. 

Abby joined BrightStar Care in 2019, after a 40-year career in healthcare. Her diversified background in inpatient and outpatient settings included workforce and leader skill development, and project and program management.  A former therapist, she worked in private practice and psychiatric facilities as a crisis interventionist and facilitated psychiatric assessments.

Having cared for her parents through their end stages of life, Abby is deeply passionate about helping others find the right care at the right time. She strives to provide vital information and guidance to those seeking care for themselves or a loved one.  She strives for service excellence, aiming to exceed the needs of our clients and their families, and our BSC team of dedicated Caregivers and Nurses.

Michele started her career in healthcare working as a CNA working in a skilled nursing facility. She then began working with seniors as a health and fitness specialist, providing hands on nutritional and exercise assistance to maximize healthy living and quality of life. From there, Michele moved into the business side of the healthcare industry and found her sweet spot in business development. Her passion continues to focus on maximizing quality of life for clients and staff.

Kayla started out in the non-profit sector as a Case Manager, where she utilized her skills to advocate for client care, connect to community resources, and reduce barriers to accessing health care and housing.  From there, Kayla has transitioned into the home health care industry to continue to provide quality care, build trust and rapport with employees and clients, and coordinate compatibility matches for care needs.

Working remotely for BrightStar Care offices from Alaska for the last 7+ years, AnnaLisa’s acute attention to detail is put to good use overseeing our weekly payroll and billing. In her time off, she enjoys creating beautiful works of art and spending time with her family.  

Heidy has been working in the healthcare industry for over 15 years. She started her career as a Surg Tech in Southern California. In her spare time, she would volunteer at an adult day center where she fell in love with helping seniors and adults with disabilities.

From there, Heidy moved to the East Bay and started a new journey. Working as a caregiver and then being promoted to a Care Services Manager. She has been able to utilize her experience and train caregivers to be successful out in the field providing the highest quality care to clients.

Heidy’s passion and ambition has allowed her to take on a new challenge as the HR Manager. In this position she will be able to search out talented and passionate individuals who thrive on caring for others and are searching for a new opportunity to increase their skills and gain experience.

In her time off, Heidy loves being outdoors just as much as she enjoys staying in and reading a good book.
