BrightStar Care is Proud to Announce a New Level of Comfort in IV Infusion Therapy
VeinViewer® Flex is a highly portable vascular access imaging device helps find the optimal venipuncture site and avoid potential complications, providing unmatched comfort. With HD imaging and Df² technology, this small Vein Viewer model is the brightest and only handheld vein illuminator that provides benefits for all patients during the entire Pre-During- and Post- vascular access procedure. VeinViewer technology means a higher probability of first stick accuracy in the most difficult situations. Being the first homecare company to implement the VeinViewer technology places BrightStar as the industry leader and it will also help to set a new quality home care standard.
INS Recommends the Use of Near-infrared Vein Visualization The Infusion Nurses Society (INS) is an organization dedicated to setting the standards for best practices in vascular access procedures and maintenance. In the 5th edition of their Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice, published in January 2016, INS highlights the benefits of using near-infrared (NIR) vein visualization for making more informed decisions in short peripheral catheter placement. INS cites two studies showing improvement in first-attempt success for peripheral catheter placement, both VeinViewer studies. The INS 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice states that clinicians should: “Consider the use of near-infrared (nIR) light technology to aid in locating viable superficial venous sites and decreasing procedure time for peripheral catheter insertion.” “Consider nIR light technology to identify peripheral venous sites and facilitate more informed decisions about vein selection (ie, bifurcating veins, tortuosity of veins, palpable but nonvisible veins).”
