Our Staff at BrightStar Care® Chico

I’ve lived here in the North State for most of my life, went to local schools and graduated from Chico State University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I have over 20 years of diverse experience in the healthcare field. I love nursing just as much as I love helping individuals make informed decisions about their health and well-being — which is what I think nursing is all about. I opened Chico BrightStar to help make a difference in people’s lives and to contribute to the well-being of our community. I look forward to providing exceptional healthcare service to the residents of Butte, Glenn and Tehama counties — any time, any place. 

Hi, I’m Emily Mumford and I have been a member of the BrightStar Care Chico team since October of 2019.  I was born in Newport Beach, and graduated Shasta High School in 2015. I really enjoy working here and learning about in-home care and the people we have the privilege to help. 

Hi, my name is Katriena, and I am a Butte College graduate (from both the LVN and the LVN to RN program).
I am currently finishing the RN to BSN program at California State University, Chico. I first started nursing school over 10 years ago and have been working as a RN for the past 6 years. I chose nursing as a career path because of my experiences with nurses and (especially) nurses aides caring for me when I was hospitalized for a ruptured appendix as a child. They made me feel safe and cared for, and I wanted to be able to provide that sense of security and well-being for others. I am very happy to be joining the team here at BrighStar Care of Chico, and look forward to meeting everyone!
