In 2016 my wife of 42 years had a very bad stroke. We were living in Illinois at the time. After four months of hospitalization and rehabilitation she was finally able to be released to home care, but I was told she would require 24/7 support going forward. While my wife was recovering I decided to move us to Woodstock Georgia where my brother lives and we have other friends and family nearby. After consulting with knowledgeable friends and healthcare professionals, I selected BrightStar Care of Cherokee County to provide in-home care for my wife. I'm so glad I did! The services had to be arranged by phone before we actually moved here--I took my wife directly from her rehab facility in Illinois to the airport for our flight to Atlanta so everything had to be in place when we arrived. I hadn't even seen the apartment we were moving into, but I need a CNA to be there to help me tackle this new responsibility. BrightStar was extremely helpful in supporting me during this difficult transition and continued to provide CNAs 7 days a week for the next 18 months until her passing. We became very fond of our regular CNAs and I still consider them to be part of our extended family.
