Our Staff at BrightStar Care® Chattanooga

A life-long resident of the Chattanooga area and graduate of The McCallie School, Furman University and Armstrong State University, Rick has spent his entire career in healthcare. After suffering a traumatic auto accident in 1991 that caused him to undergo most of his 20 surgeries, he knows firsthand the importance and benefits of quality in-home care. As Owner and President of BrightStar Care® of Chattanooga, Rick is simply an expert in hospital and healthcare operations and even has the title to prove it.  He has over 25 years of experience in hospital and healthcare operations and even consulting for some of the most prestigious hospitals in the nation, his passion and knowledge of operating a business in healthcare are more than apparent. His expertise from his schooling and past experience, continue to position BrightStar Care® of Chattanooga as the area’s premier provider of home care and medical staffing. Rick can always be found exercising, reading or on a golf course.

Charlie is the chairman of the board and is the official greeter.  As the official greeter, when Charlie enters the office in the morning, he goes to everyone's desk and then time to eat.  He also greets all visitors with a big bark and wagging body and tail.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, Barbara brings an enormous amount of business experience to BrightStar Care® of Chattanooga. She attended UT Knoxville where she studied business administration and afterwords immediately put her schooling to practice. She and her husband have owned and operated several private businesses in the area for more than forty years. Barbara has been with us since the very beginning, and is a true asset to our team. As our Customer Care Manager, she simply makes sure that our customers are 100% satisfied. With a positive attitude and can do spirit, she consistently delivers a level of service that makes more possible and creates a higher standard of care for our customers and their families. With a husband, two children, and two grand dogs, Barbara loves her family and enjoys her down time outdoors with gardening, hiking, and reading.

In her career, Vicki has worked at Erlanger Medical Center (Surgical Pre-testing), Center for Sports Medicine (Recovery Room RN) and Hutcheson Medical Center (Manager, Out-patient and Chemotherapy).  Even though Vicki grew up in TN, she has been a life long UGA Bulldog...Go DAWGS...Sic'Em.

Mary lives in North Georgia and has been a nurse for 35 years.  If you have an ailing plant, give it to Mary, she was not born with a green thumb....but Two.
 

Stacy has been a Registered Nurse for over 24 years with 2 years as a certified chemotherapy nurse and 22 years in skilled home healthcare. She has a true passion for helping people, and she has enjoyed transitioning from caregiver to care matchmaker. Stacy spends her days in our community promoting the BrightStar Care® brand, cultivating our business partnerships, meeting new people, and sharing how we can help potential future clients. She enjoys being a part of the BrightStar Care® of Chattanooga family because it allows her to continue making a difference in people’s lives. Outside of the office, she resides in Cleveland, TN, where she was born and raised. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, especially her son, Chase, who graduated with a business degree from Lee University.

Sherrie has degrees from University of Tennessee Chattanooga, University of Tennessee Chattanooga and Dalton College.  She has an eagle eye for detail and superior organizational skills, Sherrie keeps our caregiver schedule running smoothly each day. Her past experience as an RN and at Miller-Motte makes her a discerning judge of character in our hiring process.    Sherrie enjoys reading, her four grandchildren and two dogs.

Jeff was born in Baltimore, MD.  He moved to the Chattanooga area when he was 16 and attended Chattanooga State, University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and Washington Adventist University.
He was in the furniture business for over 20 years.  While he worked in Atlanta, LA (no, not lower Alabama), and Johnson City, Jeff was with Jernigan's Furniture the majority of his career.
He loves hearing from BrightStar clients on how happy/unhappy they are with their Caregivers. He also enjoys “coming to the rescue” at those times when a client has to have someone there immediately and needs our diligent efforts to make sure their loved ones are attended to!  Jeff loves humor and comedy and firmly believes that laughter does make a good medicine and he attempt to help people see the lighter side of life and go thru the day with a smile.  His personal motto is "you have to give time...time."
