Each month at BrightStar Care Chattanooga we have the difficult task of choosing the "Caregiver of the Month." Not long ago I had the privilege of hearing a speaker who said, 'there are qualities about yourself that you highlight in a resume such as being dependable and professional. These traits are usually based upon the type of experience you have learned. Now think of an obituary. The qualities that you want to highlight in an obituary are more character based such as being compassionate, sincere, empathetic, helpful and selfless." For the month of October, we have selected an employee who has traits in both aforementioned categories. She has experience in her field and a thirst for knowledge. She makes an effort to attend the monthly Caregiver Training days that will satisfy her annual continuing education requirements set forth by 
Joint Commission. She dresses professionally, arrives timely, properly uses our Mobile platform to clock in and out of her shifts and she is dependable. In addition, she is respectful, patient and demonstrates a genuine concern for others. Thank you SO much, Alyssa, for all that you are! We are so proud that you are a member of the BrightStar Care team! Alyssa will receive a gift card and she was featured in our monthly newsletter. In addition, her name will be entered into a drawing for a $500 gift card at the end of 2016! And, to all of our other employees who are working so very hard, thank you all for what you do. You have jobs that are physically and emotionally challenging. Your job is a calling. There are not many of us who can say at the end of a day, 'I was able to make a difference today by helping someone who needed my help.' What a blessing!
