Reflective Supervision & Ethics at All Levels of Practice

Dr. Valerie Radu will present 'Reflective Supervision & Ethics at All Levels of Practice' Please join us: Wednesday, November 16, 2016 9:00 AM - NOON OR Wednesday, November 30, 2016 2:00 - 5:00 PM Reflective supervision is distinct from administrative supervision and clinical supervision due to the shared exploration of the parallel process. That is, attention to all of the relationships is important, including the relationships between social work practitioner and supervisor, between social work practitioner and peers, and between social work practitioner and client system(s). It is critical to understand how each of these relationships affects the other. Ethical dilemmas with client situations often cross boundaries between supervisors, practitioners and peers. Developing practical tools for ethical decision-making which incorporate the practices of reflective supervision can lead to personal and professional growth and positive client-centered outcomes. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Participants will learn ways to engage in reflective practices to help inform their work, relationships and interventions and explain the "parallel process" within the work environment. 2. Participants will learn strategies to learn to reflect on their own performance and become less rigid and more flexible by developing and trusting their own personal practical knowledge. 3. Participants will development of an ethical decision-making process that integrates reflective supervision practices across boundaries. Participants will earn 3 contact hours of CEU credit. NOTE: The Tennessee Board of Social Work Certification and Licensure does not preapprove continuing education programs. It is the responsibility of the social worker, using their professional judgment, to justify that the continuing educational program meets the guidelines of the Licensure Board and is relevant to their professional practice.
