Care Packages deliver more than just "Things" to our Troops

October 29, 2024

BrightStar Care of St. Paul is collecting donations THIS WEEK (by Thursday, October 31st) in office for care packages destined for our military personnel overseas in a heartfelt initiative that can significantly impact the lives of those serving in challenging environments. Partnering with Semper Fi Flo, a dedicated local non-profit organization based in the Twin Cities, amplifies our efforts as we work together to gather essential items and personal touches that will bring comfort and joy to our troops. These care packages, filled with snacks, hygiene products, and small games from the community, not only meet basic needs but also serve as a reminder that they are supported and appreciated back home.

The act of sending care packages goes beyond mere material support; it plays a vital role in bolstering the mental health of our service members. Many troops experience feelings of isolation and homesickness while deployed, and receiving a care package can be a powerful antidote to these emotions. The thoughtful contents of these packages provide a sense of normalcy and connection to life at home, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety.

By partnering with Semper Fi Flo, we not only ensure that our efforts are effective but also create a community-driven approach to supporting our troops. We invite everyone to join this initiative, whether by donating items, donating dollars at semperfiflo.org, or just spreading the word throughout the St. Paul Communities. Through our collective efforts, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who serve, contributing positively to their mental health and overall well-being during their time away from home. You can drop off your donations of small handheld games, puzzle books, individually-wrapped snacks, or small hygiene items this week to our Primary Office: 5862 Blackshire Path, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076 during Business Hours of 8a-5pm Monday-Friday. Donations will be delivered to Semper Fi Flo this Thursday, October 31st by our Director of Nursing, Debra.

BrightStar Care of St. Paul has served over 1,500 Veterans and their families since it opened in 2008. We proudly provide companionship, personal cares, therapies, and nursing services actively to over 200 Vets as of today. Please consider a donation to help us honor our active military, as well as our veteran population.
