When moving into a RCAC, a resident cannot have their POA activitated. They are only allowed to receive up to 28 hours of care per week. When it comes to meals, they can be charged a la carte. In addition, as a resident ages in place and they start to have Alzheimer's related Dementia, they would have to move.
With a CBRF, BrightStar Senior Living, a loved one is allowed to age place. The community nurse will assess all residents and develop and Individualized Service Plan. They can receive up to 3 hours of skilled nursing care per week. A resident can move-in to the community regardless if the POA is activated or not. If a resident develops Alzheimer's, a CBRF Assisted Living/Memory community more often than not would be able to meet their needs and not have to move. In addition, a CBRF community is more State regulated. Reach out to your local communities, BrightStar Senior Living of Madison & Waunakee, to learn more.
