Boulder Community Health is Promoting an Easy Way to Get Fit: WALK!
Let's debunk that idea that exercise has to be hard and strenuous, and realize that it is that kind of thinking that stops many seniors from exercising.
If a Boulder senior certain health issues, including high blood pressure, heart disease, or has recently suffered a heart attack, they should talk to their doctor before starting any exercise program. But walking is a great way to help recovery when they've had health issues. It can also improve mental health and sleep! Most doctors believe it is better to exercise than to take antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications.Boulder Community Health offers monthly "Walk with a Doc" events in Boulder, where people can talk to a doctor about health issues and the benefits of walking.
