April Is National Volunteer Month In Colorado

National Volunteer month in the United States takes place in the month of April. This month is dedicated to honoring all of the volunteers in our communities as well as encouraging volunteerism throughout the month. April became National Volunteer Month as part of President George H. W. Bush’s 1000 Points of Light campaign in 1991.Some of the many public service rolls in our community depend on volunteer work. Please help support the following volunteers around the Boulder / Broomfield area!
Here is a list of some volunteer ideas for your support this month:
- Rural fire and ambulance departments remain staffed due to the efforts of volunteers.
- The underprivileged receive much needed medical care thanks to volunteers.
- Long overdue repairs and upgrades are made to a senior women’s homes thanks to volunteers.
- Answering a call on a suicide hotline depend on volunteers to work.
- Many volunteer teams set up tables at soup kitchens every week need volunteers to work.
- Volunteer’s sell ice cream sandwiches during a fair to raise money for a homeless shelters takes volunteers to work.
BrightStar Care honors a call to action this month to help observe National Volunteer Month, and would like to thank all those that donate there volunteer time to the greater good of your area.
