Falls Prevention Awareness Week: September 23-27, 2024

September 23, 2024
Falls Prevention Awareness Week is here! From September 23-27, 2024, we encourage everyone to focus on reducing the risk of falls, especially for older adults. Falls are a leading cause of injury, but they can often be prevented with the right steps.

Tips to Prevent Falls:
  • Stay Active: Strength and balance exercises help keep you steady.
  • Check Your Vision: Regular eye exams ensure clear sight.
  • Manage Medications: Be aware of side effects like dizziness.
  • Create a Safe Home: Clear clutter and improve lighting.
  • Wear Supportive Shoes: Choose sturdy, non-slip footwear.
