Adrian’s passion is caring for others. A young veteran Marine Raider and his family agree. “He just makes Dan feel good, and that’s why Barb and I feel so confident when he’s here.”
Nomination Letter
Written by Barb and Wayne T., parents of Adrian's clientWe are truly honored to nominate Adrian Bala for the 2017 BrightStar Caregiver of the Year Award. He is most deserving of this recognition and scholarship.
Adrian came into our home two years ago to assist with the care of our son Daniel. Daniel is a Marine Veteran who served two combat tours in Iraq in 2005 and 2006. He was a Sergeant and a true leader. He suffered a C5 spinal cord injury in a fluke accident that rendered him a quadriplegic. We are blessed to have Daniel home with us. His care is great, and yet the decision to bring assistance was difficult. Who could care for Daniel as we did? We found that person on Adrian.
Adrian has become a part of our family. He is ten years younger than Daniel, and yet he came in and related to Daniel in a way the made the situation easy and comfortable for all. He brings positive energy and joy each day. He is respectful and good with members of the entire family. He makes a difference! In addition to his personality, Adrian is very competent. He caught on quickly to the complexity of Daniel’s needs and care and retained and transferred those skills. He goes above and beyond what is asked of him, he will jump in and assist any way he can. He is a self-starter and very motivated. He doesn’t wait to be asked. He sees our needs and is there.
Adrian is very trustworthy. He is a dedicated, honest professional. He is always here on time on schedule days and willing to come in, as able, on other days. He has a huge heart and cares about the total patient, not just physical needs but emotional needs, as well. He has a very caring and kind heart. This is much more than a job and a paycheck to Adrian. Caring for others is his passion. He goes out of his way to learn about his patients and finds a special way to connect with their interests. He truly makes a difference. Adrian is studying and working toward his nursing degree. He demonstrates the highest quality of care and will be an outstanding nurse. He would be a very worthy recipient of a scholarship, and it would be put to excellent use as he furthers his education. We would love to see Adrian receive the 2017 BrightStar Caregiver of the Year Award and scholarship. He is most worthy of both. Thank you for your consideration.
