Use a wire wreath to attach your decorations, securing them tightly in place. You can also use a mesh wreath for this project if that is what you prefer.

  1. Start Painting: Now, we can begin the painting process. Start by marking the vertical lines on the canvas. The flag should have thirteen stripes, so make sure to measure and mark each line accurately. Then, use painter’s tape to cover all of the white stripes, leaving only the red stripes exposed. You can use a paintbrush or a sponge to apply the red paint. Wait for the paint to dry before removing the tape. Once dry, use the tape again, but this time to cover the red stripes, leaving only the white ones exposed. Once more, apply your white paint with a sponge or paintbrush. Let this layer dry before removing the tape. 

  1. Add the Stars: Now comes the stars. You can use star stickers, stencils, or a stamp to create consistent stars. Alternatively, you can manually draw and paint them yourself. A straightforward way to create the star field is to use a ruler and mark off a tiny rectangle area with blue painter’s tape. Then, paint this area blue. Again, wait for the paint to dry before removing the tape. Now you can add the stars however you’d like with stickers, paint stamps, or by freehand.
