In her role as Senior Vice President Human Resources at BrightStar Care®, Heather Brazik Smith is responsible for leading the charge to identify, hire and retain exceptional talent that will support the brand’s growth trajectory. Her deep operational knowledge of people, change and culture initiatives, coupled with her track record of creating engaging and fulfilling employee experiences, will deepen the organization’s commitment to A Higher Standard®.
Prior to joining BrightStar Care’s leadership team, Heather led transformational initiatives at numerous organizations, including her recent role at Health Prime International where she was responsible for leading the M&A and integration work. In addition, she has served as SVP Organization Development for R1 RCM, held an interim leadership development role at Gallagher and redesigned the sales culture and curriculum at Equity Residential.
Heather is passionate about leadership development and coaching, especially for women at leadership levels who are intentional about growing their careers. She has designed and facilitated multiple programs that focus on the challenges women face in the workplace, including offering the tools and support needed to achieve their goals. Colleagues describe her as organizationally savvy, flexible, fun to work with and a tremendous asset to the team.
Since graduating from Bowling Green State University, Heather’s career ascension has included continued growth in areas such as Culture Alignment Strategies, Stakeholder Analysis and Coaching, Talent Assessment and Development Processes, Learning Needs Analysis and Custom Curriculum Design.
A true servant leader, Heather has taken her passion for equipping and empowering women to the Women’s Ministries in her church, where she provides her programming and career coaching expertise on a volunteer basis.
Heather raised three children in the Chicago area and currently lives in Scottsdale with her husband of 30 years, their youngest daughter who is attending Arizona State University and their two dogs – Roxy and Winter. When not spending time with her family or colleagues, Heather enjoys reading, yoga, and attending sporting events and concerts.
