Honoring Veterans at the NYC Veterans Day Parade: BrightStar Care’s Commitment to Serving Those Who Served
BrightStar Care South Brooklyn/Upper East Side is proud to announce our participation in the upcoming NYC Veterans Day Parade on November 11, 2024. The parade, which kicks off at 12:30 PM on Fifth Avenue, from 26th Street to 48th Street, is the largest celebration of service in the nation, honoring the men and women who have selflessly served in our military. As a veteran-owned home care company, this event holds a special significance for us and reflects our deep commitment to supporting veterans in our community.
Our Story: Inspired by Service
Our CEO, Toby Anderson, served three tours in Iraq following the events of 9/11. When he returned home, Toby wanted to find a meaningful way to continue serving his community. His mission became deeply personal when his aunt was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. Toby coordinated her home care, gaining firsthand insight into the value of compassionate, quality care for those facing health challenges. Inspired by this experience, he and his family made it their goal to ensure people could remain as comfortable and independent as possible in their own homes. Thus, our journey in home care began, driven by a commitment to dignity, respect, and compassionate service.
Why We Walk
Participating in the NYC Veterans Day Parade allows us to honor Toby’s service, the service of our clients, and the broader veteran community. It’s a chance to show our appreciation and highlight the importance of providing meaningful care and support for those who have sacrificed so much. As we walk alongside other organizations and individuals, we stand in solidarity with veterans and their families, recognizing their contributions and ensuring their stories are remembered and honored.
