Posted on behalf of Lynda Reid: First of all, I chose Bright Star at the recommendation of my son Bryan Reid who stated that Bright Star was accredited by the Joint Commission, the same as the hospital he worked for. Miss Stephany was the finest caregiver I have ever been lucky to have had - she was professional, caring and went consistently above and beyond what was expected and outlined in her responsibilities. In fact, she placed herself in real danger protecting me and my new puppy from a next door neighbor who has two large aggressive dogs. I used a walker at this time and was using the walker while walking my new dog, with Miss Fanny accompanying me, as she always did when I went walking my dog. My neighbor was being dragged by his two snarling dogs toward us, I immediately guided my walker and new dog down a driveway and onto the street to avoid being attacked, Miss Stephany placed herself behind me to protect me from on coming cars, and then placed herself between me and my new dog and the lurching snarling dogs as they tried to attack us. Luckily we got home safely. I immediately notified the HOA who sent a cease and desist letter with threat of legal action to my neighbor. That evening as Miss Stephany was leaving the same neighbor accosted her in my driveway and told her I had no right to have a dog or walk on the sidewalk with a walker. Miss Stephany did not respond to him and advised me what had transpired. I again notified the HOA who sent him another warning. He then approached me and I told him to get off my property and that any further action on his part would result in my contacting the police. He has since stopped walking his two dogs and avoided me like the plague. This took great courage and commitment to me and her profession and she deserves to be recognized for this. In addition to this, Miss Stephany always treated me, my son and my dog with the utmost care and respect. She was always extremely attentive, clean, friendly, supportive and I can honestly say that it is due to her care that I can now go up and down the steps from my kitchen to my patio without any difficulty. Her care also helped me maintain a clean and neat household, supported me with kindness and cheerfulness. There was nothing I needed that she would not do under her own volition including not just washing and vacuuming the floors, assisting me with showering, doing the laundry and grocery shopping, but assisting with the chores in the yard. To sum it up, Miss Stephany has made my recovery from spine surgery a complete success. She is also a kind, considerate professional whom I consider more than just a caregiver, she is someone whom I deeply respect and thank for helping me heal. Miss Lorainne came to me while Miss Stephany was on vacation. She came to us when we had just lost our 15 year old dog who had saved my late husband’s life. Both my son and I were devastated by this, and when Miss Lorainne came that morning she helped us regroup and find a new dog who we rescued - a dog who had been trapped in the floods in Kerrville. She helped us find him and helped us in getting him settled in, she provided us with the peaceful, quiet and supportive help we needed at that time. Miss Veneta came after Miss Lorainne and before the return of Miss Stephany. Miss Veneta demonstrated a peaceful, caring demeanor that made the collection of the ashes of my passed 15 year old dog and placing it alongside my late husband’s ashes in acknowledgment of the dog’s service to my late husband and me and my son. She was just what we needed for that time. I am very appreciative for the kindness and caring I received from all the caregivers you provided me and will definitely call on Bright Star again if I need the services of caregivers. He loved all of his caregivers, but Sara was special. She was the first caregiver he had and is the one that started him out with great care. I appreciate her so much.
